Founded in 2017 by real estate and finance visionaries Ezra Dweck and Joseph Oved, IceCap Group began with a bold mission: to deliver fast, transparent, asset-backed bridge and rehab financing for real estate investors. We are institutionally managed and backed by a family office with over 30 years of real estate investing history.
Since inception, our model has emphasized tailored capital solutions, high-touch service, and the bridge loan agility traditional banks simply can’t match. Back then, and today, our strength lies in our deep underwriting capability, speed to close, and entrepreneurial mindset.
We’re a private money lender in the Northeast focusing on fix‑and‑flip, bridge, and long‑term rental financing. Our family office roots provide stability and alignment, yet we operate with startup mentality to stay nimble and responsive.
Our lending philosophy is simple: work directly with experienced borrowers to tailor loan terms—no cookie‑cutter products. Borrowers deal with real decision-makers, work through a clean and transparent process, and enjoy closing timelines as fast as 24 hours to 10 days depending on product.
From the very beginning, our leadership and operations team has combined deep experience across credit, origination, capital markets, investor relations, IT, finance, servicing, and underwriting. This diversity has been instrumental in scaling IceCap into a multi‑fund platform and trusted capital partner across the ecosystem.
IceCap Group’s evolution from a nimble startup into a multi-fund, tech-enabled lending platform has been guided by a leadership team that blends deep expertise with entrepreneurial drive. Our success is not built on hierarchy – it’s built on shared accountability, strategic thinking, and a relentless focus on execution.
At the foundation are co-founders Ezra Dweck and Joseph Oved, whose shared vision launched IceCap in 2017. Ezra, with his background in real estate investing and private equity, and Joseph, with his expertise in structured finance and credit, established IceCap to be agile where banks were rigid – a lender that could combine institutional discipline with real-world flexibility.
As IceCap scaled, it became clear that unlocking the next chapter would require not just capital, but leadership across every vertical. In 2020, Jack Oved joined to help formalize the business and streamline operations. Soon after, Felix Rivera came on board as Chief Financial Officer, grounding our growth in strong financial management, strategic planning, and scalable operational controls.
Andrea Propp, Head of Investor Relations, has been the architect of IceCap’s capital-raising strategy, leading the successful launches of Fund 1, Fund 2 REIT, and our current open-ended Fund 3. She brings a deep understanding of fund management and investor relations – and has helped shape how IceCap communicates, delivers value, and builds trust with its capital partners.
On the risk and credit side, David Jacob plays a critical role as Chief Credit Officer, helping to protect IceCap’s integrity by overseeing underwriting quality and managing risk exposure across our portfolio. His diligence and strategic thinking have been essential in maintaining the consistency and reliability of our lending decisions. Stephen Schwartz, leading our capital markets function, has been instrumental in developing and maintaining the funding relationships that power our loan programs. His insight into market dynamics and structured finance has helped ensure that IceCap’s capital stack supports both speed and sustainability.
In 2021, Michael Stone joined as Chief Technology Officer, signaling IceCap’s serious investment in technology as a competitive differentiator. Since then, he has led the development of a proprietary loan origination platform, broker and borrower portals, driving efficiency, transparency, and scale across every part of our business.
